Details Hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit featuring a 3-bay OBED, 20 labor rooms, 3 ORs, and 3 PACU bays Patient population includes laboring, antepartum (high-risk), delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients Travelers rotate through OBED, L&D, and OB PACU areas; travelers do not circulate OR cases Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12‑hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week) Every other weekend (EOW) required Every other holiday (EOH) required No on‑call required Requirements Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license with NC as the state of residence Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), and NRP Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required Prior L&D experience required Ability to circulate for C‑sections and triage OB patients required Minimum education: Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited nursing program (BSN or MSN preferred) Two professional references required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and implementation of nursing care for laboring, high‑risk antepartum, postpartum, and recovery patients Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care using the nursing process Participates in patient and family education, including assessing readiness and developmental factors affecting learning Drug screen results are required prior to start; candidates should report to the lab within 24 hours of commitment Background check and drug screen processing takes a minimum of 2 weeks; start dates may be adjusted if required documents are not submitted by the due date American Traveler Job ID #P-700376.
