Electrical Apprentice

divh2Electrical Apprentice/h2pElectrical Apprentices assist Electricians in the performance of electrical tasks such as pulling cable, installing devices, repairing electrical equipment, and reading blueprints. This position requires the apprentice to enroll in a 4-year Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Program. Some travel will be required. Pay is dependent on experience./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliWorks under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician and must be able to demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment. Assists with materials handling, installation of materials, devices and equipment/liliSpecific tasks include:/liliIdentify and eliminate hazardous conditions at the job site/liliMaintain the job site in a safe, neat and orderly condition/liliHandle and stage materials, equipment and tools/liliAssist with layout, wire pulls and installation/liliMay be required to operate heavy equipment/liliAssist with cable tray installations, device installations, and lighting connections/liliReceive On-the-job learning (OJL) as part of the apprenticeship program/liliAttend class make satisfactory progress with apprenticeship program completion/liliSafely operate hand and power tools/liliPossess the ability to read and interpret instructions, maps, manuals/liliPositive safety attitude and personal integrity/liliLegally operate company vehicles and equipment/li/ulh3Working Conditions/h3ulliJob requires working in all elements (rain, snow, heat, etc.)/liliMust keep work tools with them at all times (work belt, bag, etc.)/liliUse all types of ladders including step ladders up to 14feet, A Frame and all size extension ladders and relocate a 12 ladder by ones self/liliPerform work at various heights, up to 90 from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and cat walks and be able to work in restricted areas/liliWear protective personal equipment (PPE)/li/ulpAbout Us/ppCarolinaPower serves the electrical construction service needs of residential, industrial, institutional, and commercial communities throughout the United States.
