Job Title: Part-Time Lower Elementary Teacher (Grades 1–3)

Location: Huntington Beach, CA

Reports to: General Studies Principal

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate, creative, and nurturing Part- time Lower Elementary Teacher to join our general studies team. This part-time role is perfect for an educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and loves guiding young learners through the foundational years of their academic journey.

The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in Core Subjects (Language Arts and Math) while integrating the values and traditions that make our Jewish day school unique.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction & Curriculum: Lead engaging, differentiated lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, and science tailored to the developmental needs of lower elementary students.

• Classroom Management: Foster a "Kehillah" (community) atmosphere that is safe, inclusive, and rooted in Middot Tovot (positive character traits and values).

• Assessment & Growth: Track student progress through formal and informal assessments; provide timely feedback to students and detailed progress reports to parents.

• Integration: Collaborate with Judaic Studies faculty to create meaningful connections between General Studies and Jewish life/holidays.

• Communication: Maintain open, professional lines of communication with families regarding student development and classroom happenings.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (Master’s degree preferred).

• Certification: Valid state teaching license or equivalent.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in an early elementary setting.

• Cultural Competence: A deep respect for and comfort with Jewish traditions, holidays, and values (Hebrew fluency is not required for this General Studies role, but familiarity with the culture and religion is a plus).

• Tech Savvy: Ability to use educational technology (SmartBoards, Google Classroom, etc.) to enhance learning.

Schedule & Compensation

• Hours: Part-time.. Typical shift: 8:00 - 12:30 or 12:30 - 3:30, Monday–Friday.

• Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
