Pet Services: Customer Care Specialist II

JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST II Responsible for advanced clerical work, which includes operation of a personal computer, and public contact work in providing information regarding a variety of County operations. Provides a professional and courteous response via telephone, in person, in writing and on-line. Work schedule will change with the departments needs which may include weekends as regular shift work. Provides customer service functions in support to the Animal Services – Pet Services team. Answers telephone calls and directs them accordingly. Types letters, reports, forms, and correspondence. Maintains records and reports on a personal computer. Performs data retrieval and entry into a software application. Performs other clerical functions as needed such as processing mail, filing and scanning. Performs related work as required. Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures. Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic. Knowledge of County departments, operations and regulations. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to meet and deal with people effectively. Ability to use a personal computer and related software. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to learn the procedures and operations of the unit to which assigned. Ability to type accurately on a personal computer. Ability to communicate with others in person, via telephone, in writing and on-line. Ability to read for comprehension. PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. One (1) year of experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact. Experience in the operation of a personal computer required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possessa valid Florida driver's license.
