The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, the Space Launch System, Orion Multi‑Purpose Crew Vehicle, Launch Services programs, and the International Space Station Exploration Ground Systems. Responsibilities Provide overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Support NASA’s return to the Moon as part of the Artemis Program. Lead the Quality Team supporting NASA's Space Launch System, International Space Station, and Launch Service Provider. Maintain compliance with AS9100D through internal audit and quality engineering processes. Develop and execute processes for calibration equipment, quality planning, non‑conformances, corrective and preventive actions, acceptance data packages, still imagery, and foreign object debris prevention. Develop and execute software assurance processes including safety software assessments, verification and validation of the Launch Control System, and compliance with CMMI ML3. Conduct supplier quality audits, inspections, and flow‑down of supplier requirements. Perform inspections on receiving, flight hardware manufacturing, and work execution acceptance for flight hardware and ground support equipment. Develop and implement quality goals, policies, priorities, and procedures, ensuring adherence to master plans and schedules. Develop solutions to program problems and direct work of incumbents from various departments. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, and manage resources effectively. Provide advisory support to the program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Establish and assess quality performance criteria in the execution of program requirements. Develop and maintain processes and metrics that support contract and AS9100 requirements. Contribute to team effort by mentoring team members and documenting quality processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field plus ten (10) years of progressive and relevant experience (additional education may substitute for experience). Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, Internet browsers, and Outlook. Excellent Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data for reporting. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required. Physical Requirements Must be able to climb stairs, wear hearing protection, eye protection, and other personal protective equipment. Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, extensive stairs, and remote structure access. Position is in a hazardous testing facility; must evacuate quickly during emergencies. Work Environment Work inside and outside throughout the test complex; may involve traveling to different site areas, walking uneven terrain, gravel, rocks, dirt, sand, and climbing ladders or platforms. All work must be performed safely according to NASA and company safety standards. Attendance & Hours Full‑time regular hours Monday–Friday. Position may require occasional overtime, weekend work, or shift work.
