Job Title Victim Witness Relocation Coordinator #451 Reports to Victim Witness Administrative Supervisor Level Entry Grade/Step 15 Location Leighton Courthouse/2650 S California Bureau Administrative Services Working Environment Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Primary Function The Relocation Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the victim and witness relocation process, ensuring safety, confidentiality, and timely service delivery. Physical Requirements Light Work: The position requires the ability to stand or walk frequently, often for extended periods. It may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 20 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier items. Duties and Responsibilities Deliver trauma‑informed victim services to individuals in high‑risk situations. Review relocation applications submitted by assigned ASAs or VWS staff, verify program eligibility, and request any outstanding documentation or information. Conduct comprehensive interviews to complete safety assessments, develop safety plans, and create individualized relocation plans with eligible participants. Provide crisis intervention to identify safe housing and placement referrals and ensure that appropriate social services are offered. Collaborate with SAO colleagues and allied professionals to address safety concerns and support prosecution efforts. Build a network of community‑based advocates, public housing agencies, shelters, allied government agencies, and other community partners to identify safe, permanent housing options and referrals. Maintain current information on cases and work with team members to prepare for emergencies. Provide ongoing follow‑up with program participants to ensure safety and progress in securing long‑term relocation. Ensure crime victims and witnesses are informed of available housing protections and resources. Arrange transportation and emergency relocation for victims and witnesses as needed. Maintain statistics and monthly reports regarding program activity. Develop and provide training on relocation program guidelines and eligibility to CCSAO personnel. Work a flexible schedule based on unit needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant program (sociology, psychology, women’s studies or related field). The candidate must be an empathetic listener with knowledge of the rights of victims as defined by state and national law. Must have excellent grammar, organizational, and communication skills. The candidate must be able to work flexible hours. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications. Candidate must have three years’ experience working with victims of violent crime and/or housing advocacy. Candidate must be able to work independently, multi‑task, travel to various locations as needed, and demonstrate cultural competency. Preferred Knowledge of CCSAO databases and/or ability to learn is important. Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, Polish, or Arabic). Knowledge of housing rights and resources preferred. Prior grant compliance and monitoring experience is preferred.
