Job PostingWork Schedule and Shift PremiumsFull Time | 1200 to 0030 | 36 hours / three 12-hour shifts per week including every other weekend and Christmas Eve / Christmas Day on a rotation2nd shift premium is $2.00/hourWeekend premium is an additional $2.00/hourBenefitsInsurance: medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disabilityPaid Time Off for: illness, vacation and holidaysRetirement: 403(b) with matchEmployees who work on a recognized holiday are paid time and a half for hours worked on the holiday in addition to holiday pay at straight timeEducation assistance and continuing educationRequirements / QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institutionCNA, EMT-Advanced, or EMT-Paramedic certification requiredCPI and BLS required | Life certification courses provided free of charge on-site at the hospitalGood phone, computer, clerical and follow-up skills with strong attention to detailMust possess a positive attitude toward patients and coworkersMust be a team playerResponsibilitiesProvides prompt and efficient services to Emergency Department patientsIdentifies and acts on the needs of patients in a positive, polite, compassionate, and timely mannerHas knowledge of the patient's condition and plan of care and assists under the direction of the RN and physicianEffectively performs basic nursing care procedures: weights, dressing changes, Foley insertion and removal, start and removal of IV lines, applying warm/cold compresses, simple NG care, blood glucose testing, etc.Collects patient specimens (e.g. urine, blood, stool, sputum), labels and sends to the laboratory in a timely fashionMaintains accurate records within the chart: graphic, intake and output, lab draws, IV starts, and appropriate patient care documentationAnswers the telephone in a friendly manner, takes messages, and directs callsPerforms clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, transfers, etc. Inputs computer dataPromptly and accurately recognizes and reports all concerns and abnormal findings.
