Description:
Radiology Tech position available.
This is a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching facility.
The average number of patients per day is between 350 and 400.
The department has 40 operating rooms with 12 C-arms and 2 O-arms available.
There are two x-ray rooms and three fluoro rooms on the main level.
The emergency department has two x-ray rooms and 15 portable x-ray units.
The role involves imaging adults and pediatrics, including neonates, in various settings.
Candidates must be comfortable with high acuity patients and trauma situations.
The work will require rotation shift-by-shift for areas stationed, which may include emergency, operating room, and main x-ray.
The job entails general x-ray imaging of various body parts including head, neck, spine, extremities, abdomen, hands, feet, and chest.
Candidates must be able to handle trauma patients and perform portable x-rays at the bedside.
Experience with spinal, ortho, general surgery, neuro, and pediatrics specialties is needed.
Support is available from supervisory staff and fellow radiology techs 24/7.
The department utilizes an electronic medical record system.
Department-specific equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general radiography room, Konica and Shimadzu portables, Philips C-arm, and GE O-arm.
No floating outside of the x-ray areas required.
Good communication skills, confidence in clinical skill sets, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
There are no call requirements for this position.
Holiday work will be expected if it falls on a scheduled workday.
Precepting x-ray students may be requested based on experience.
The departmental culture emphasizes teamwork and high clinical skill sets.
