Staff Accountant

Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Staff Accountant based in Miami, FL . A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law . Position: Staff Accountant Location: Miami, FL Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $65,000 to $70,000 Company Overview Our Miami client is a growing real estate company in expanding into the South Florida market. They are looking for a Staff Accountant. They have different business lines and are continuing to acquire more opportunities. Position Overview The Staff Accountant will utilize Excel strongly and will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position involves collaboration with cross‑functional teams to support financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented and proactive in identifying process improvements. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Excel usage: must be strong with Excel functions General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, review and post journal entries, and monitor transactions for completeness and accuracy. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee AP/AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, and customer collections. Month‑end and Year‑end Close: Lead the month‑end and year‑end closing processes, coordinating with other teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitor performance, and provide variance analysis. Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision‑making, identifying trends and opportunities for cost optimization. Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing tax returns and support audits, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and liaising with external advisors as needed. Required Experience/Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting. Strong with Excel Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Proficiency in full‑cycle accounting, including financial reporting and month‑end close. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Preferred Experience/Skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Analytical mindset with problem‑solving skills. Experience in the consumer services industry is a plus. Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus. Continuing education in accounting or finance preferred. Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
