About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4 Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in related nursing specialty License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI required Must-Have: Strong written and verbal communication skills; basic computer knowledge Description: Demonstrates proficiency and independence in the care of patients and their families. Applies and documents the nursing process, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Consults with staff and management on nursing issues and interpretation of policies to ensure patient needs are met. Continues to learn new skills and maintains clinical competency to provide direct and safe patient care. Meets expectations of applicable competencies. Promotes positive relations by presenting self in a professional manner. Demonstrates effective communication skills necessary to interact with persons of varying ages and cultures. Develops and maintains good relationships with co-workers, staff, and physicians. Practices the five rights of medication administration. Demonstrates efficient time management skills to maximize productivity. Encourages teamwork and asks for assistance when necessary. Supports the mission and philosophy of the organization. Acts as a patient advocate, including family in patient care and respecting confidentiality. Respects patients' cultural and religious beliefs. Effectively deals with end-of-life decisions. Is accountable for actions, behaviors, and decisions. Utilizes the chain of command to resolve issues. Participates in quality activities as required. Demonstrates understanding and application of relevant policies. Respects confidentiality. Ability to speak additional languages preferred. Participates in legal compliance training annually. Answers telephone and takes messages appropriately as assigned.
