Seeking a Research Scientist for our client in Omaha, NE. Our client is a specialized diagnostics company focused on reducing cancer misdiagnosis. They partner with leading academic institutions in cancer research, diagnostics, and treatment to provide high-quality pathology services and diagnostic insights. The Research Scientist will be a key contributor to the discovery and development of diagnostic tests in cardiology, oncology, or inherited diseases. They will design and execute multiple integrated lines of experimentation to achieve project objectives, resulting in the development of high-impact molecular biology technologies, products, and processes in key strategic areas

Responsibilities :

• Researches new products/technologies which may involve conducting hands-on laboratory work.
• Prepares documentation describing procedures for the manufacture of new products.
• Produces and maintains applicable data recording as required by following established guidelines, reviews data for accuracy and completeness, ensure data is properly documented.
• Write technical literature describing new products/technologies and their use and preparing support materials for marketing
• Interacts with Development, Production, CLIA laboratory, or technical support personnel to answer technical questions and troubleshoot new products.
• Involvement in project management for products being developed as well as the documentation necessary to effectively transition the assay to Development, CLIA, or Production.
• Assists in managing key collaborative projects in area of focus.
• Communicates regularly and makes presentations within the department and externally as required.

 

Job Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge and experience in PCR, plus some or all of the following techniques: manipulation of DNA, DNA sequencing, mutational analysis platforms, Real Time PCR, and array platforms; required CLIA, ISO, Production documentation and project management.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams throughout the company to ensure company goals are met.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and implement creative solutions;
• Knowledge of GLP, assay validation methodologies, and regulations that apply to clinical laboratory studies that support regulatory submissions is required.
• Proven written and oral communication skills (including publications and presentations).
• Effective teamwork skills with multiple functions.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
• Ph. D. in a biological, chemical, or physical science.
