Contracts Counsel | Investment Management | Chicago or NYC

Our client, an investment management firm, is hiring a Contracts Counsel to own commercial contracting for the business. This is a hands-on in-house role for an attorney who already uses AI and automation tools in their work.

What you'll do

Lead the drafting and negotiation of commercial and vendor contracts, including research, data, software licensing, telecom, consulting and hardware
Use AI-enabled legal and contract-management tools to speed up review, drafting, negotiation and workflow, with attorney oversight
Administer the contract lifecycle management (CLM) system and track contract terms and renewals
Balance legal and practical business considerations while working with teams across the firm
Handle day-to-day legal inquiries from business units
Support legal operations and special projects as needed

What you bring

JD
Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools in contract work (required)
Strong negotiation, drafting and communication skills
Financial services, investment management or law firm experience preferred
Sharp judgment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
Enthusiasm for working in the office
