Job Summary and Qualifications

The Monitor Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors

and provides clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Rotate

monitoring SPOT (Sepsis Prevention and Optimization of Therapy) and notify staff of alerts.

Maintains ongoing, high-level surveillance of patients' cardiac rhythms and notifies clinicians

of any rate/rhythm changes according to clinician/provider orders. Is the gatekeeper for

telemetry units and initiates and discontinues monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or

discharge. Serves as a resource for training and troubleshooting to the Central Monitoring

area. Maintains observation of the SPOT alerts and reports all alerts to the appropriate unit.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
