Logistics Management SpecialistServes as the senior logistics management officer for a VA HCS (with multiple sites of care) and supported catchment area, integrating acquisitions and procurement, logistics and related support and services for the supply chain.Standardizes business processes, establishes performance measures and analyzes the supply chain, developing actions as a result of analysis results, metrics, quality assurance/compliance, operating practices, and reporting within the system and catchment area.Integrates operations for the acquisition and procurement of complex healthcare resources that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating the logistical and supply chain management actions required to support the complex requirements of a large healthcare system.Directs the supply chain, to include budge projections and execution for logistics programs and contracts, utilizing and understanding the role of logistics in healthcare system and VISN financial, business, capital asset management, clinical and administrative operations.Maintains extensive knowledge of supply chain systems and requirements necessary to provide direct support to the VA HCS and technical guidance and assistance to all organizational logistics personnel pertaining to logistics.Analyze the supply chain, developing actions as a result of analysis results, metrics, quality assurance/compliance, operating practices, and reporting within the healthcare system.Conducts audits, compliance reviews and program effectiveness and efficiency reviews of all logistics activities to ensure they provide satisfactory levels of service and comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, directives and procedures.Oversees all activities involved in providing needed logistics support, tin include a capital asset planning, strategic sourcing of commodities.Serves as a liaison to the VISN, OAL&C and the VHA procurement and logistics office (P&LO).Establishes, maintains and promotes VA HCS and supported catchment area logistics personnel training and professional development programs.Serves as the VA HCS accountable Officer to ensure all government property assigned to the VA HCS and supported catchment area is accounted for receipt of title to final utilization and disposal.Plans, develops and adapts the supply chain management procedures as needed.Works closely and collaboratively with Biomedical and Engineering staff as part of the overall management of the property/equipment program.Conducts strategic planning and quality management of the equipment and leasing programs.Work Schedule: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through FridayTelework: AD-HOC only.
