The Food Service Supervisor / Assistant Manager oversees day-to-day operations in a fast-paced restaurant and food service environment. This role focuses on leading and developing team members, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily food service and restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, coach, and train team members on operational procedures, customer service best practices, and food safety standards.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift management to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity.
- Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and overall operational standards are consistently met and maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels, support inventory control, and assist with ordering, receiving, and asset management of products and supplies.
- Handle customer concerns and escalations professionally, providing excellent customer support and creating a positive guest experience.
- Support the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of employees to build a strong, capable team.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and health and sanitation standards.
- Assist management with performance coaching, feedback, and team accountability to drive results.
- Help drive operational efficiency, productivity, and team morale through effective leadership and communication.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve processes related to invoicing, retail operations, and overall service quality.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, hospitality, or retail management preferred.
- Experience leading, training, or supervising employees in a customer-facing environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and guests.
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive guest experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Dependable, organized, and team-oriented approach to work and problem-solving.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Skills in inventory control and asset management within a food service or retail setting.
- Ability to provide customer support and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.

Work Environment
