The Food Service Supervisor / Assistant Manager oversees day-to-day operations in a fast-paced restaurant and food service environment. This role focuses on leading and developing team members, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. Responsibilities

• Supervise and support daily food service and restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Lead, coach, and train team members on operational procedures, customer service best practices, and food safety standards.
• Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift management to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity.
• Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and overall operational standards are consistently met and maintained.
• Monitor inventory levels, support inventory control, and assist with ordering, receiving, and asset management of products and supplies.
• Handle customer concerns and escalations professionally, providing excellent customer support and creating a positive guest experience.
• Support the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of employees to build a strong, capable team.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and health and sanitation standards.
• Assist management with performance coaching, feedback, and team accountability to drive results.
• Help drive operational efficiency, productivity, and team morale through effective leadership and communication.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve processes related to invoicing, retail operations, and overall service quality.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, hospitality, or retail management preferred.
• Experience leading, training, or supervising employees in a customer-facing environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and guests.
• Proven customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive guest experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Dependable, organized, and team-oriented approach to work and problem-solving.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Skills in inventory control and asset management within a food service or retail setting.
• Ability to provide customer support and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.

Work Environment

The role is based in a fast-paced restaurant and food service setting where you oversee front-of-house and back-of-house activities. You work on-site, actively engaging with team members and customers throughout your shifts. The environment involves standing for extended periods, moving between service areas, and managing multiple tasks at once. Shifts may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, requiring flexible availability. You work with standard food service equipment and inventory systems, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and health compliance while contributing to a professional, customer-focused atmosphere.

This is a Permanent position based out of Warrensburg, MO.

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $43680.00/yr.
