Behavioral Health RNFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Aurora, Colorado. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:One year of recent experience as a behavioral health RNValid RN license in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS (AHA/ARC) certificationEssential Work Functions:Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and document findings using evidence-based toolsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers, to develop patient-centered care plansProvide and coordinate patient care with other health team membersMonitor patients' responses to interventions and report outcomes, adjusting care plans as neededAdminister medications as ordered with appropriate documentation, educating patients about their use, side effects, and adherenceSupport patients during medical procedures relevant to mental health care, such as ECT or crisis interventions, and monitor their responsesPerform other duties as assigned within scope of practiceAdhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standardsAdvocate for patients' needs and rights, ensuring culturally sensitive and ethical care deliveryParticipate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance psychiatric nursing practiceEducate patients and families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resourcesComplete accurate, timely documentation to support legal, clinical, and operational requirementsRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
