Psychiatrist / Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerThe Psychiatrist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides outpatient psychiatric services to clients at Path to Peace Counseling Services, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, risk assessment, and coordination of care with the behavioral health team.Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $100,000$120,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.Medical Benefits: 100% employer-paid for the employee; 50% employer-paid for eligible spouses and dependents.PTO: Paid Time Off included.Licensure: Path to Peace will cover applicable professional license renewal and maintenance costs, as well as required professional registrations, including DEA registration when applicable.ScheduleThis position offers significant flexibility with a self-assigned schedule. Providers establish their preferred clinical hours in coordination with organizational needs while maintaining an active minimum caseload. Services may be provided through in-person and telehealth appointments.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct psychiatric evaluations and establish diagnoses.Assess safety and psychiatric risk.Develop and update individualized treatment plans.Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, interactions, and adherence.Order and review labs and diagnostic testing as clinically appropriate.Provide ongoing psychiatric follow-up and adjust treatment as needed.Coordinate care with therapists, primary care providers, case managers, and other providers.Complete timely clinical documentation and maintain accurate EHR records.Comply with HIPAA, professional standards, and federal and Virginia prescribing requirements.Participate in clinical collaboration and organizational meetings.Provide ethical, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered care.Minimum QualificationsActive Virginia license appropriate to the position.PMHNPs must have Virginia licensure and authority for independent psychiatric practice.Physicians must have an active Virginia medical license and be board-certified or board-eligible in psychiatry.Active DEA registration appropriate to prescribing responsibilities.Ability to independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions within legal scope of practice.Ability to meet credentialing and payer enrollment requirements.Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsBoard certification in Psychiatry or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.Outpatient psychiatric medication-management experience.Experience serving rural or underserved populations.Experience with complex psychiatric or co-occurring substance-use conditions.Experience providing telehealth and in-person services.Core ExpectationsThe provider is expected to maintain required credentials, provide safe and evidence-based care, maintain an active caseload and reasonable availability, complete timely documentation, collaborate with the treatment team, prioritize client safety, and support Path to Peace Counseling Services' mission of improving access to quality behavioral healthcare.
