ASIC & FPGA Design Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking an ASIC & FPGA Design Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA; Houston, TX; or Denver, CO for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. In this role, you will support over 50 programs and R&D efforts impacting military, civil, and commercial space systems, as well as missile and satellite platforms. You will contribute to FPGA design, development, and verification while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Required Skills

• Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience synthesizing and building FPGA designs using Microchip and Xilinx/AMD targets (UltraScale Plus, RT Polarfire, Versal, RTG4)
• Experience with Libero, Vivado, and Synopsys tools (simulation, lint/CDC, synthesis)
• Design experience with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL
• Experience debugging designs in both lab and simulation environments
• Ability to quickly understand requirements documentation and ramp on existing designs
• Experience working collaboratively across teams to debug and resolve issues
• Experience with Space Wire
• Experience using Python
• Willingness to contribute to Circuitware documentation, including requirements, analysis, and presentation materials

What You'll Do

• Work with low SWaP, radiation-hardened, space-rated devices
• Develop RTL/VHDL code, scripts, and FPGA design components
• Complete FPGA design and development, including self-test and testbench creation
• Collaborate with engineering teams to debug and simulate Circuitware using Xilinx tools
• Deliver FPGA RTL source code updates, test data, and documentation
• Partner with systems and design engineers to develop concepts of operations and design requirements
• Support verification engineers in validating FPGA designs
• Participate in team meetings and technical reviews
• Contribute to design documentation in accordance with company processes
