Temporary Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician I to provide customer‑centric repair and maintenance services for an assigned property, including responding to service requests, carrying out preventive maintenance tasks, preparing apartments for turnover, and managing parts and supplies. Responsibilities Log service requests and completed work using Entrata and CMMS systems. Maintain the property’s physical condition according to Scion Group SOPs, OSHA, and industry standards. Coordinate maintenance objectives and daily assignments with the Maintenance Supervisor. Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair in a timely and professional manner, ensuring all service requests are completed daily. Document work performed, parts used, and submit daily reports with detailed notes. Inspect vacated apartments, record required repairs and maintenance, and notify the supervisor. Perform basic appliance repair, general carpentry, plumbing/fixture repair, painting, and basic electrical work to prepare apartments on schedule. Inspect interior common areas and property exteriors, ensuring daily upkeep and operational light fixtures. Complete preventive maintenance on all equipment and systems, including fire extinguishers, alarm systems, and utility checks. Clean coils, lubricate equipment, maintain filters, and perform minor repairs as assigned. Maintain parts and supplies inventory and keep workshop and storerooms organized. Unlock apartment doors and escort vendors as needed. Clear drainage grills, clean pools, adjust chemicals, pressure wash sidewalks and building areas. Assist with snow removal and after‑hour emergencies per supervisor direction. Present a professional appearance in uniform and maintain required property standards. Use appropriate tools and equipment and undertake training related to job duties. Qualifications High school or trade school diploma with 1–3 years of full‑time general maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination. Experience repairing and maintaining HVAC systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, air handlers, automation controls, and related electrical systems. HVAC certification preferred; EPA 608 (Core & Type I) preferred. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred. OSHA training preferred (mold remediation, asbestos abatement, lead paint removal, etc.) with completion within three months of employment. Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate work order details. Knowledge of property management and security systems. Safety‑conscious attitude with punctuality, dependability, and ability to meet aggressive deadlines; flexibility for after‑hour and weekend emergencies. Valid driver’s license and ability to work after office hours per on‑call schedule. Willingness and ability to travel as required. Working Environment and Physical Demands Extensive mobility required, including lifting up to 100 lbs., kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must stand for long periods (8+ hours) and perform activities such as bending, climbing ladders, lifting, grasping, reaching over shoulders, and pushing or pulling.
