About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ Years of RN OR Experience, Level 2 Trauma Experience, Proficient in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology License: Active Michigan License Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: - 2+ Years of RN OR Experience - Level 2 Trauma Experience - Proficient in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology - Recent travel work experience Description: This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure. The RN maintains patient safety throughout the process. The RN outlines individual care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of the patient during surgical procedures. Provides leadership to the Operating Room team. Communicates with the patient and family, Operating Room team, supervisor, manager, and ancillary departments. Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education. Responsibilities: Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a specific plan of care for that patient. Implements and evaluates the plan of care during the procedure and makes necessary adjustments, keeping patient safety a priority. Supervises activity in the room. Anticipates and coordinates any schedule changes for the room. Assembles equipment and supplies. Assists anesthesia as necessary. Monitors the sterile field. Communicates with the patient, family, physician, Operating Room team, supervisor, manager, and ancillary departments. Participates in staff development by attending in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and seminars for educational and leadership growth opportunities.
