CNC Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\n \n \n Ensure that all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met \n Review setup sheet, drawing and specifications to determine setup procedure and dimensions of finished workpiece \n Align, position, secure and fit parts and panels at machine according to the setup instructions \n Inspect, maintain and operate machines according to set procedures \n Inspect, perform necessary repairs and report all quality issues to supervisor \n Maintain written logs of daily operation as required \n Maintain consumable on hand inventory as required \n Measure and inspect workpiece for conformance to specifications and standards as required \n Notifies supervisor of all machine discrepancies, issues and machine malfunctions \n Adjusts machine control parameters according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions \n Maintains machinery, equipment and a safe/clean work environment \n Perform other related duties as required and assigned \n \n COMPETENCIES \n \n \n Self-management \n Thoroughness \n Flexibility \n Teamwork \n Integrity \n \n SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY \n \n \nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\n \n EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE \n \n \n 3+ years of experience in: \n \n \n- Operating numerical controlled machines in machine shops or\n \n \n- Programming automated machine systems in:\n \n \no Milling\n \n \no Cutting\n \n \no Bending/forming/stamping\n \n \no Welding\n \n \no Robotics\n \n \n \n Basic knowledge of machines and equipment \n Basic knowledge in the use of computers, programming, and automated production systems \n Basic knowledge of welding processes \n Understanding of engineered drawings and technical documents \n Knowledge of shipbuilding methods and equipment is a plus \n Knowledge of milling, burning, welding, forming, bending, or stamping depending upon position applied for \n Skilled to utilize typical tools necessary for the position \n Knowledge of work place safety \n Creativeness and proactive work habits \n Work execution independently according to valid instructions, rules and other standards \n Flexible cooperation with other team-members \n \n \n WORK ENVIRONMENT \n \n \nEnvironmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.
