General Summary Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping, fixtures, and equipment for gas, steam, hot water, fire sprinkler system, or oil heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial processing systems. Essential Job Accountabilities Assigns workers to specific duties. Inspects completed processing systems to determine conformance to specifications. Trains new workers in use of equipment and tools. Performs duties as described under Supervisor. May supervise workers engaged in working in high-pressure systems, and be designated Steam-Fitter Supervisor. May supervise workers engaged in maintenance and repair work. Education High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience Work Experience Appropriate training and experience required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Workers should be able to: Work within precise standards of accuracy Rate information using standards which can be measured or checked Compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects Look at flat drawings or pictures and understand how they would look as solid objects Follow oral and written directions, plans, and blueprints. Physical See well (either naturally or with correction) Coordinate the movements eyes, hands and fingers Use hands, arms, and fingers fully Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required and lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds and occasionally more #J-18808-Ljbffr
