# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry RN – West Texas

Schedule:

12-hour shifts with self-scheduling flexibility. 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio during weekdays (1:5 on weekends). 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period. No on-call required. Float capability between units required. 12-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

- Work at a 379-bed Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with a 29-bed progressive care unit- Specialized Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with 4 dedicated beds for continuous EEG monitoring- Fast-paced environment managing complex neurosurgical and neurological patients including TIA/stroke, trauma, subdural hematoma, and post-operative neurosurgical cases- Epic electronic health record system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Rapid Response Teams, PT/OT/Speech Therapy, and Pharmacy- Manage cardiac telemetry drips including Cardene and Heparin protocols- Strong mentorship program with dedicated qualified mentors for new caregivers

Requirements:

- Current RN license (Compact license accepted and must be in hand at submission)- Minimum 2 years of progressive care or telemetry nursing experience- Experience with 1:4 patient ratios required- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management- Experience with central and peripheral line management, blood product administration, cardiac and vasoactive drip management- Competency with insulin and heparin titration protocols- Must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years- First-time travelers welcome; local candidates considered at adjusted rate (50-mile radius applies)- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
