Summary The Production Cell Manager – Frame 6B Auxiliary Skid Refurbishment is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of all refurbishment activities associated with Frame 6B gas turbine auxiliary skids. Provide leadership for a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, technicians, mechanics, electricians, welders, inspectors, planners, and support personnel responsible for receiving, inspecting, developing refurbishment work scopes, planning, refurbishing, testing, and preparing auxiliary skids for shipment. Oversee production performance, including safety, quality, cost, scope, schedule, labor productivity, and customer satisfaction. Serve as the primary operational leader for the production cell and work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Field Services to ensure successful project execution. Primary Duties Lead all daily operations within the Frame 6B Auxiliary Skid Refurbishment Production Cell. Direct refurbishment activities from equipment receipt through final testing and shipment. Develop daily and weekly production priorities to meet customer delivery schedules. Manage production resources to maximize labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and throughput. Ensure refurbishment activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved work instructions and engineering requirements. Monitor production progress and remove barriers that impact schedule, quality, or productivity. Production Leadership Lead all daily operations within the Frame 6B Auxiliary Skid Refurbishment Production Cell. Direct refurbishment activities from equipment receipt through final testing and shipment. Develop daily and weekly production priorities to meet customer delivery schedules. Refurbishment Operations Oversee all phases of the auxiliary skid refurbishment process including: Receiving and identification of customer equipment Initial inspection and condition assessment Development of refurbishment work scope Project planning and work package preparation Complete skid disassembly Cleaning and component inspection Mechanical repairs and component replacement Structural repairs and fabrication Pipe fabrication, repair, and replacement Valve inspection and replacement Instrumentation installation and calibration coordination Electrical wiring inspection and repair Control panel inspection and refurbishment Mechanical and electrical reassembly Pressure testing and leak testing Functional testing of auxiliary systems Final inspection, documentation, preservation, and shipment preparation Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership to supervisors, technicians, mechanics, electricians, welders, and inspectors. Review inspection findings and determine appropriate refurbishment requirements in collaboration with Engineering. Resolve technical manufacturing issues impacting production. Ensure repairs comply with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards. Support engineering change implementation and continuous improvement initiatives. Workforce Management Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors and direct labor personnel. Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence. Conduct employee performance evaluations and identify training and development needs. Promote workforce flexibility through cross-training and skills development. Maintain staffing levels that support production requirements. Quality Management Ensure all refurbishment activities comply with the company's Quality Management System and customer requirements. Coordinate with Quality Assurance on inspections, nonconformance resolution, and corrective actions. Verify completion of required inspection hold points and documentation. Drive first-pass quality and reduce rework through disciplined process execution. Support customer inspections and factory acceptance testing (FAT) activities. Cost, Scope, and Schedule Management Maintain full ownership of production cost, labor hours, schedule adherence, and project execution. Monitor actual labor performance against estimates and budgets. Ensure refurbishment work scopes are accurately developed and executed. Coordinate material availability with Supply Chain and Planning. Identify schedule risks and implement recovery plans when necessary. Report production status, risks, and performance metrics to Operations leadership. Continuous Improvement Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within the production cell. Analyze production metrics to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery performance. Implement standardized work practices and process improvements. Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation. Drive waste reduction, improved workflow, and enhanced manufacturing performance. Working Relationships Reports to the VP, PM/SC/IT and collaborates with EP peers and management. Compensation The initial salary range is $152,200 to $175,100 based on experience and qualifications. Job Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, engineering technology, or a related technical field from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent. Relevant work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Years of Experience: Eight years of manufacturing, overhaul, or industrial equipment refurbishment experience. Five years of leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment. Experience managing complex refurbishment or repair projects involving mechanical and electrical systems. Experience managing cost, scope, schedule, and production performance. Preferred Experience: Experience with GE Frame 6B gas turbine auxiliary systems. Experience refurbishing gas turbine lube oil, fuel gas, hydraulic, atomizing air, cooling water, seal oil, or starting system skids. Experience working within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System Licenses/Certification: Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (preferred). Software/Equipment Knowledge: Mechanical equipment refurbishment, industrial piping systems, pumps, motors, valves, filters and heat exchangers, lubrication and hydraulic systems, and fuel gas systems. Electrical power and control wiring, and instrumentation and control devices Structural fabrication and welding Pressure testing and leak testing Mechanical assembly practices Engineering drawings and P&IDs ERP experience using SAP, Oracle, IFS, or equivalent manufacturing software (preferred). Experience with pressure testing and functional testing of auxiliary equipment (preferred) Knowledge of industrial piping systems, pumps, heat exchangers, valves, filtration systems, instrumentation, and electrical control systems. (preferred) Other Considerations: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Strong understanding of production planning, labor management, quality systems, and manufacturing operations. Material management and work package execution Manufacturing planning and scheduling Physical Requirements and Working Conditions This position is based within a heavy industrial manufacturing facility and requires daily presence on the production floor. The role involves frequent interaction with production personnel, engineering, quality, planning, project management, customers, and suppliers. Occasional travel may be required to customer sites, vendor facilities, or field service locations to support refurbishment projects. Normal Working Hours Normal working hours are 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours may be required based on specific requirements. Work at facilities can occur around industrial hazards, in areas of high noise levels, and around new construction. Physical mobility to transverse stairways, ladders, grating, and uneven terrain are essential. Ability to see, hear, read, and react to warning signs, lights, and alarms are essential. Fit for Duty All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
