Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Overhead Door Technician to diagnose, service, and install a wide variety of commercial door systems and related equipment. This is a hands-on role ideal for mechanically inclined professionals who value safety, teamwork, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial overhead doors and related equipment
- Install new commercial door systems and components
- Coordinate with the scheduling team to identify parts and resolve job issues
- Safely travel to and work at customer job sites
- Evaluate job requirements and perform service or installation efficiently
- Work on a variety of systems, including:
- Commercial garage door operators
- Hinges, door sections, rolling steel doors, and torsion springs
- Dock equipment and related hardware
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in commercial overhead door installation and repair
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a safety-first mindset
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams and technical documents
- Welding and electrical experience preferred
- Certifications (OSSA Fall Protection, First Aid, etc.) are a plus
- Comfortable working from ladders and in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver s license required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, kneeling, bending)
- Must pass drug screening
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Professional communication and customer service skills
