The Tyler Centennial VA Clinic is part of the VA North Texas Health Care System, one of the largest and most comprehensive VA systems in the country. The clinic provides primary care, mental health services, vision care, telehealth, women's health care, cardiology, audiology, and laboratory services to Veterans in the East Texas region. This is a modern, outpatient-focused facility where Internal Medicine physicians serve as primary care providers for PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team) panels, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered, longitudinal care.

Internal Medicine Physician Responsibilities

• The Internal Medicine Physician provides outpatient care for acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Manage referrals to specialists when necessary.
• The Internal Medicine Physician develops and implements individualized treatment plans.
• Participate in Quality Assurance Programs and comply with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient-centered care.
• Supervise and mentor residents (if applicable).
• Stay up-to-date with medical advancements and best practices in Internal Medicine.
• The Internal Medicine Physician serves as a Primary Care Physician for a panel of patients.

Internal Medicine Physician Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.
• Must be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
• Must have completed a residency in Internal Medicine.
• Must have actively practiced or trained in Internal Medicine for at least two of the past three years.
• Must have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must have an active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
• Must have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
