Coding & Compliance Auditor

The coding & compliance auditor evaluates medical record documentation and coding accuracy, identifies opportunities for improvement, designs and delivers coding education training programs for clinical staff, coders and other key stakeholders. The auditor monitors external regulatory and internal process changes and supports colleagues in adhering to federal, state and local requirements. Compensation Pay Range : $73,000.00 – $104,400.00 Responsibilities Identify staff and management training and education needs and recommend appropriate interventions. Assess organization-wide compliance training needs through audits or other review techniques. Analyze data to identify deficiencies or weaknesses in the performance of job-related competencies. Recommend appropriate training programs to address identified needs. Design and develop training programs. Develop and review all training materials for accuracy and relevance. Write course objectives in performance-based language linked to job-related competencies. Design program content, materials, and instructional methods to meet learning styles. Develop course proposals. Evaluate vendor training materials for applicability. Conduct and evaluate training programs. Organize and present course content based on adult education principles. Use audio‑visual aids to enhance presentations. Modify materials and delivery methods based on feedback. Verify mastery of skills and knowledge through assessments. Assist in developing follow-up mechanisms to ensure application of learning. Assist in scheduling programs to maximize attendance. Produce reports of program effectiveness and attendance. Self‑development. Participate in professional societies relevant to ICD‑9‑CM, ICD‑10‑CM, PCS, and CPT. Attend continuing education activities to enhance professional development. Administrative duties. Assist with program administration as assigned. Attend organization-wide committees as assigned. Perform additional related duties as required. Design, develop, and deliver education and training programs that meet staff needs for professional and personal development. Plan and develop curricula aligned with the organization’s strategic goals, mission, and business strategies to improve employee performance. Establish, implement, and maintain a formalized review process for coding compliance, including a formal audit process. Schedule Monday–Friday, 32‑hour position, four days a week, working hours between 8 am and 5 pm. Qualifications Minimum Education : Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management. Minimum Work Experience : Five years acute‑care coding with expertise in ICD‑9‑CM, ICD‑10‑CM, PCS, and CPT coding. Preferred Experience : Adult and continuing education, organizational development, and training. Required Certifications : CCA – Certified Coding Associate (AHIMA) CCS – Certified Coding Specialist (AHIMA) CCS‑P – Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based (AHIMA) CPC – Certified Professional Coder (AAPC) CPMA – Certified Professional Medical Auditor (AAPC) RHIA – Registered Health Information Administrator (AHIMA) Required Knowledge and Abilities : Ability to interact with constituents who have competing priorities and communicate compliance importance respectfully and authoritatively. #J-18808-Ljbffr Dormont Manufacturing Co
