Environmental Project Manager

Location: Glastonbury, CT, United States GEI Consultants is seeking an experienced environmental scientist, geologist, or engineer to provide project management, client development, and staff coordination as part of our environmental practice in Glastonbury, Connecticut. The successful candidate will author and peer review environmental reports, give client and regulatory guidance, mentor junior staff, resolve environmental challenges on a variety of projects, and serve as project and client manager while supporting other project managers. Responsibilities Develop investigation and remedial strategies for various sites and contaminants and collaborate in the design and installation of remediation solutions under Connecticut DEEP regulations and the LEP program. Work on a variety of environmental projects throughout the region, primarily in Connecticut, Central Massachusetts, and New York. Manage projects and direct the project activities of engineers and scientists. Lead environmental site assessments and remedial and pre‑design investigations. Prepare and review work plans and technical reports. Interact directly with clients and regulatory agency representatives. Assist clients with problem‑solving, sometimes requiring immediate attention. Develop and maintain relationships with company and client personnel. Develop proposals and support business development activities. Actively participate in industry organizations and networking events to maintain industry relationships. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related science. 10+ years of relevant professional experience in environmental consulting. Seller/Doer mentality and experience. Experienced and working knowledge of CT DEEP regulations and LEP programs required. Experience with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is a plus. Client connections and ability to secure work opportunities is a plus. Excellent communication skills and technical report writing skills. Must be self‑motivated, detail oriented, and highly organized. HAZWOPER training. Travel to job locations as needed. Carrying objects for up to 1 hour; push/pull as required. Twisting, bending, reaching (forward and overhead) up to 1 hour each. Keyboard use/repetitive motion 6–8 hours.
