Responsible for receiving, processing, and distributing clinical laboratory specimens. Does this position require patient care? NoEssential Functions- Receive, label, and distribute clinical laboratory specimens including blood, urine, and tissue samples. - Process specimens by verifying patient information, accessioning samples into the laboratory information system, and preparing samples for testing. - Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment. - Follow established procedures and protocols for specimen handling, storage, and disposal. - Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory area. - Adhere to safety and quality standards including use of personal protective equipment, proper disposal of hazardous materials, and adherence to laboratory accreditation requirements. - Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing. - Perform other related duties as assigned by laboratory management.QualificationsEducationAssociate's degree related field of study preferred or high school diploma or equivalent requiredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsExperienceExperience in a laboratory or healthcare setting 1-2 years preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology. - Ability to follow established procedures and protocols with attention to detail and accuracy. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Ability to work independently and in a team environment. - Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office. - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.Additional Job Details (if applicable)Remote TypeOnsiteWork Location81 Highland AvenueScheduled Weekly Hours0Employee TypePer DiemWork ShiftDay (United States of America)Pay Range$17.71 - $25.28/HourlyGrade3At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
