Radiology Technologist

About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Radiology Technologist to join our Urgent Care team. This role includes performing clinical and administrative duties consistent with MedStar Health policies and procedures. The technologist works under the supervision of a physician and is responsible for patient intake, standing orders, venipuncture, laboratory testing, follow‑up, and administration of oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications, as well as X‑ray diagnostic imaging. The position offers a limited‑time $10,000 sign‑on bonus . Compensation: USD$29.73 – $53.49 per hour. Primary Duties Adhere to MedStar Health Code of Conduct and compliance plan; complete all required training in safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR, EMR, and related compliance areas. Clean, stock, and sterilize equipment, and prepare patient rooms for care delivery. Deliver patient care consistently with safety and quality of care requirements. Use new technology and the electronic health record system. Manage patient flow and communicate frequently with patients and families. Perform spirometry/PFTs, vitals, BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under provider supervision. Conduct patient follow‑up calls for lab tests, experience, and clinical results. Perform venipuncture and point‑of‑care patient and laboratory testing; initiate appropriate care pathways. Perform X‑rays per provider orders; forward images to the radiologist for overreads; maintain equipment and adhere to safety standards. Promote an atmosphere of respect toward patients, families, vendors, employers, and co‑workers; communicate professionally. Provide care consistent with MedStar’s mission, vision, and values; serve as a patient escort; assist in discharge. Support new clinical and service initiatives and seek opportunities to improve care and patient experience. Support team members during downtime or bottlenecks; perform basic computer and patient intake tasks at the front desk; assist provider in patient examination, testing, and education. Prepare and administer oral medications and injections (IM, SC, intradermal) after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee under provider supervision. Qualifications Associate degree. Completion of an approved R.T. program. Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting. 2 years of medical office experience preferred. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification. State license in Maryland, Virginia, or DC. BLS (Basic Life Support). #J-18808-Ljbffr
