Commodities Quant Strat - Fixed Income - Vice President

Role Overview The commodities business is looking for a quantitative strategist at the Vice President level, located in New York, to support its North American Power and Gas business. The strategist will work closely with other commodities strategists, the front office trading and origination teams, and IT. Responsibilities Develop new pricing and forecast models. Improve existing models. Set up and test new products for trading. Perform data analysis for the trading desk. Work with traders and originators on deal pricing and risk management. Collaborate with market and model risk groups on model documentation and approval. Qualifications Master or PhD degree in a quantitative subject. 2–5 years of Commodities experience. Coding experience, preferably in Python or C++. User‑level experience with GenAI coding tools. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills. Pay and Benefits Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 – $250,000 for Vice President, at the commencement of employment. Base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
