Position Overview

This position is for a Clinical Assistant in an ambulatory clinic environment, primarily based on Yawkey 6. The clinic operates from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM, with specific responsibilities across two floors dedicated to different patient populations.

Shift Details

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:30 - 16:00)

Key Responsibilities

Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
Preparing exam rooms for patient consultations
Assisting with skin biopsies
Collecting and handling specimens
Providing support in procedure and infusion areas

Clinical Areas of Focus

Yawkey 5: Outpatient clinic for Melanoma and Cutaneous Oncology, operating from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Yawkey 6: Includes an exam clinic, procedure suite, and infusion center, serving patients with Sarcoma, Phase I Clinical Trial participants, and those undergoing bone marrow biopsies.

Patient Care Responsibilities

Room patients and assess vital signs
Perform EKGs as needed
Assist with bone marrow biopsies and other related procedures
Support specimen collection and processing
Provide direct patient care support in the infusion center

Qualifications

Previous charge experience preferred - minimum of 2 years
Experience with electronic charting systems, preferably Epic
Certifications required: BLS, CMA
Oncology experience is a plus

Facility and Patient Care Details

The clinic provides care for patients across various age groups with a primary focus on outpatient oncology services. The environment encourages interdisciplinary support tailored to complex patient diagnoses, including Sarcoma, Melanoma, and immunotherapy treatments.

Additional Information

Clinicians may be required to float between hospital locations.
Compliance with licensure and certification is crucial upon signing.
Orientation sessions are held once a month.
