Sr Staff, NPI Sourcing Manager
Illumina
Senior staff role managing non-recurring engineering (NRE) sourcing, supplier relationships, and development agreements for product portfolios. Responsible for establishing commercial frameworks, improving cost control and speed of engineering services procurement, and building scalable sourcing processes across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Define and manage development agreements with engineering partners to meet project requirements and cost objectives
- Establish NRE tracking, budgeting, approval, and governance frameworks across product development projects
- Lead RFQ/RFP processes, supplier negotiations, and cost analysis for new components and materials
- Develop and execute engineering services strategy balancing internal capabilities with external provider relationships
- Manage supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance tracking to support product launches and production ramp-up
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related supply chain, NPI, or product development experience
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Proven experience with new product introduction, design-to-cost, and value engineering
- Supplier development and relationship management expertise
- Strategic thinking with ability to translate complex technical requirements into scalable processes
- Strong analytical and data extraction skills from multiple sources
