Position Title:  Preboarding Specialist
Location:  Houston, TX
Duration: 12 Month Contract 
Status: Onsite
Employment Type: Contract role on W-2 through Above and Beyond Talent Acquisition, Inc. (A&B Talent)
Pay Range:  USD $26-28 an hour W2

Requirements / Who we are looking for:

● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred or a
minimum of 5 years of progressive professional experience in HR operations,
preboarding, onboarding, or a compliance-focused role.
● High-volume hiring experience required, including support of compressed hiring
timelines.
● Merger and acquisition (M&A) integration experience strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
● Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage high transaction
volumes simultaneously.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively across HR and business stakeholders.
● High attention to detail with a strong focus on compliance and data accuracy.
● Proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
● Workday experience preferred, including preboarding, onboarding, and transaction
support.
● Experience with employment screening services, E-Verify, health and safety portals, and
HR systems.
● Internet-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and processes.

Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing: 

● Serve as a primary point of contact for candidates, welcoming them to Veolia and
communicating next steps throughout the preboarding process.
● Conduct proactive candidate outreach and follow-ups to ensure timely completion of
pre-employment requirements.
● Coordinate and track pre-employment screening requirements, including background
checks, drug tests, and physicals.
● Support the scheduling and reschedule drug test and physical appointments to ensure
start-date readiness.
● Proactively monitor screening progress and follow up with candidates and vendors to
resolve outstanding items.
● Track and manage vendor status updates and preboarding queues to meet service-level
expectations.
● Support the I-9 compliance process by monitoring documentation, supporting corrections
and ensuring timely completion of Section 1 and Section 2 in accordance with federal
requirements.
● Escalate background check alerts, compliance concerns, and exceptions to the Team
Lead/Supervisor or HR Partner as appropriate.
● Liaise with Health & Safety, HRBPs, and external vendors to resolve candidate or
vendor-related issues.
● Initiate rescind actions and update candidate records in Workday when applicable and in
accordance with policy.
● Confirm managers complete required new hire information in Workday to trigger
downstream provisioning and onboarding activities.
● Support documentation audits and data accuracy efforts related to preboarding and
compliance.
● Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the
candidate experience.
● Provide project-based support for merger, acquisition, or other large-scale hiring
initiatives as assigned.
