Accounting Role at Baker Commodities, Inc.Safely and effectively perform accounting functions to support the National Accounts Center (NAC), including processing transactions within the ERP system, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting billing, payment, and reporting processes. This role also assists with resolving transaction-related issues and responding to accounting inquiries from internal teams and external partners.Compensation and Benefits$32.00 hourlyMedical, dental and vision coverage offered401(k) with employer contributionPaid holidays, vacation and sick timeCompany sponsored life insuranceCompany sponsored short and long-term disabilityPet InsuranceDuties and ResponsibilitiesProcess and review accounting transactions within the ERP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial recordsPerform billing, route entry, and cash receipt processing for NAC SPN customer accountsPrepare AP packets, check requests, credit and debit memos, and vendor remittancesReconcile receivables and review transactions to support accurate financial reporting and close processesGenerate pre-invoices, invoices, and customer transaction reports, ensuring completeness and timely deliveryMonitor and assist with resolution of unapplied cash and outstanding balances, supporting collections effortsMaintain accurate pricing within ERP for NAC charge and pay ratesReview supporting documentation, including pricing, service activity, and billing accuracyReview ERP reports and assist in identifying discrepancies or data issues for follow-upAssist with troubleshooting transactions or data-related issues and escalate as appropriateSupport data validation and verification of system activity to maintain accurate recordsCommunicate with customers, brokers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure accurate information flowManage assigned customer care and billing cases within Salesforce through resolutionAccess and review third-party platforms to support accurate transaction processingMaintain documentation within DocuWare to support transaction records and audit requirementsPrepare reports for management, including pricing sheets, transaction summaries, and operational reportingPerform monthly close processes, including transaction review related to multiple divisions and supporting schedulesSupport audit requests by providing documentation and explanations as neededInteract with others in a professional and ethical mannerFollow department and company proceduresKeep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this companyOther duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time as business needs evolve over time.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum of 5 years of accounting or related experienceStrong analytical skills with the ability to review, interpret, and validate financial dataProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office applications (Word, Outlook)Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal teams and external partnersMust have excellent work ethic, including the willingness to work the hours necessary to complete duties timelyMust be organized and have a skill set to manage multiple tasksFamiliarity with Salesforce, DocuWare, Epicor, AFR or similar systems preferredLess than 5% travel requirementPhysical Demands/Requirements:Constantly (over 2/3):Operates standard office equipment, including computers and related office machinery.Remain in a stationary position for extended periods of timeReviews documents, organizes data, and ensures accuracy of informationFrequently (1/3-2/3):Moves throughout the office to access files and equipment as neededCommunicates with customers and coworkers to exchange accurate information in person, by phone, and electronicallyOccasionally (under 1/3):Moves materials or documents up to 25 lbsAbout Baker Commodities, Inc.Baker Commodities Inc. has been in business for over 80 years.
