Service Technician

Dutch Miller Kia of Charleston is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our professional and dynamic team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical tasks on vehicles including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry located in South Charleston, West Virginia. This is an individual contributor role offering a competitive compensation of $22 to $35 per hour, paid weekly.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth diagnostic assessments and identify mechanical issues on vehicles
• Perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake replacements
• Utilize computerized equipment and tools to accurately diagnose and repair vehicles
• Communicate with customers to explain vehicle issues and recommended repairs
• Complete all work in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining high-quality standards
• Keep detailed and accurate records of all repairs and services performed
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the shop

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician
• ASE certifications preferred but not required
• Knowledge of automotive systems and components
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
