Homewood Suites Milford, 600 Chamber Drive, Milford, Ohio, United States of America Job Description Assistant General Manager – Hospitality Operations Executive Summary Provide clean, friendly, well‑organized and safe hotel experience for guests. Areas of Excellence Happy Guests Spotless Cleanliness Product Consistency & Quality Teamwork Duties and Expectations Guest Relations: Greet guests happily, use names, maintain excellent satisfaction scores, handle challenging situations, and keep guests informed of hotel features and events. Cleanliness: Ensure all front and back‑of‑house areas are clean, organized, and safe. Participate in guest room and public space cleaning as needed. Product Consistency: Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time, maintain accurate handover reports, and present a flawless uniform per Team Member Handbook. Teamwork: Communicate clearly, demonstrate a can‑do attitude, and collaborate with all team members to create a welcoming environment. Daily Supervision: Conduct daily walks of guest rooms and public spaces, verify cleanliness standards, and supervise mechanical equipment. Training: Provide one‑on‑one training to new team members on service and checklist expectations. Shift Management: Monitor guest service team, confirm needs are met, and oversee check‑in/check‑out periods. Culture Building: Foster happy team members and happy guests. Room Inspections: Perform daily room inspections and verify checklist compliance. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts as directed by the General Manager. Onboarding Support: Aid in onboarding new hires using the onboarding checklist. Time‑Clock Oversight: Review time‑clock punches with General Manager. Auditing & Reporting: Complete Daily Summary, Night Audit, and shift handover reports; upload to MCR platform. Purchase Order Process: Ensure all purchases follow the purchase‑order process and approved vendors. Invoice Sign‑off: Process invoices accurately. Quality Assurance: Adhere to brand standards and conduct audits. Safety: Maintain up‑to‑date fire and life safety inspections. Escalation: Review service failures and ensure proper escalation. Preventative Maintenance: Verify maintenance tasks are completed and inspected. Schedule Adherence: Ensure team members adhere to schedules; adjust shifts as needed. Shift Coverage: Cover open department head positions when required. Success Metrics Happy Guests: Management performance ratings, guest satisfaction scores, intent to return. Spotless Cleanliness: GM/AGM spot checks, leadership walk‑throughs, guest ratings/reviews. Product Consistency & Quality: Checklist tracking, management performance ratings, guest ratings. Teamwork: Management performance ratings. Qualifications & Requirements Can‑Do Attitude : Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Follow Guidelines : Understand and follow established procedures. Decision‑Making : Evaluate options quickly and accurately. Handle Pace & Pressure : Maintain composure in high‑pressure situations. Listening & Conflict Resolution : Resolve concerns of co‑workers and guests. Financial Skills : Basic arithmetic, financial data understanding. Other Skills : Attention to detail, meet deadlines. Technology : Proficiency in Windows OS, approved spreadsheets and word processing. Communication Skills : Convey information clearly. Hospitality & Guest Service : Lead team to provide friendly service. Certifications & Licenses : Minimum age to serve alcohol; valid driver’s license. Market Knowledge : Basic understanding of local market. Age Requirement : 18 years or older. Schedule & Travel : Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel. Education : Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred. Work Experience : Prior supervisory experience preferred; hospitality, hotel, restaurant, or service industry experience preferred. Physical Working Demands & Working Environment Essential functions include standing, walking, operating computers, lifting up to 25 pounds, and inspecting details. Moderate noise level; travel may be required. Language and Reasoning Skills Read, write, understand and communicate in English. Interpret documents, safety rules, procedural manuals, and reports in English. Write routine reports and correspondence in English. Speak effectively in English before groups.
