Step into a dynamic elementary Life Skills classroom as a dedicated Special Education professional for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract role focuses on nurturing young learners in grades K-2 or 3rd-5th, helping each student grow academically and socially in a supportive environment. You’ll make a profound difference for students with autism and a variety of other disabilities, guiding a classroom of 15 children alongside a team of 3-4 paraprofessionals.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid state certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain certification)
• Previous classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher
• Strong background supporting students with autism and other disabilities (highly preferred)
• Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Proficient in data collection, assessment, and progress monitoring
• Demonstrated leadership in managing and mentoring paraprofessional staff
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct and inspire students in a Life Skills classroom, adapting lessons to meet diverse needs
• Lead case management, including developing, writing, and maintaining IEPs
• Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instruction
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and other educational professionals
• Oversee, coach, and support 3-4 paraprofessionals within the classroom daily
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices in Special Education
