Construction Controller Opening | Job Costing & Leadership Experience Required Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 per year A bit about us A well-established construction company in Albuquerque is seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, job costing, payroll compliance, and accounting team leadership. This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys being involved in the day‑to‑day accounting details while also managing a team and partnering directly with leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, be comfortable overseeing AP, AR, payroll, compliance, project accounting, and financial reporting, and be confident working in a hands‑on environment. Why join us Hands‑on Controller role with direct leadership visibility Strong construction accounting scope including job costing, payroll, AP, AR, compliance, and financial statements Opportunity to manage and support a large accounting/admin team QuickBooks Online environment Flexible PTO, medical coverage, and 401K match Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, reconciliations, collections, payroll, and financial reporting Manage job costing, project‑based reporting, cost tracking, and aging reports Oversee certified payroll, compliance requirements, tax filings, audits, and year‑end reporting Generate P&L statements, financial statements, and monthly reporting Review purchase orders, billing approvals, vendor coordination, and payment workflows Support contract administration, documentation management, and construction‑related compliance Maintain accurate financial records, internal controls, and accounting processes Supervise, mentor, and support accounting and administrative staff Partner with leadership and operations teams to resolve accounting and administrative issues Work with the outside CPA firm as needed for accounting support and reporting Qualifications Construction accounting experience required 5–7+ years of progressive accounting, finance, or Controller‑level experience Prior leadership or supervisory experience required Strong hands‑on experience with job costing, AP, AR, payroll, compliance, and financial reporting Experience working for a similar‑sized construction company preferred QuickBooks experience preferred Strong Excel and accounting software skills Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
