Malin is looking for a Project Manager to work within our Systems Department and assume responsibility for large conveyor and material handling system projects.A successful person in this role is a people-oriented problem solver who makes sound decisions, demonstrates persistence, and overcomes obstacles. We understand the importance of maintaining our industry reputation, integrity, and customer-first approach.Software Program: Project, Project Online, and Synergis AdeptEssential FunctionsOrganize the entire project from order placement by customer through the installation and implementation phase: Schedule sub-contractors, work with material-handling equipment manufacturers and freight companies.On occasion solicit and receive bids from designated vendors; on occasion select vendors based on company criteria.Establish and manage relationships with customers and suppliers.Obtain customer approval for project plansShould be proficient with project management softwareAdditional Job FunctionsInteract with sales personnel, engineers and customers as required to ensure necessary coordination and good communications.Process approved project change orders.Make periodic site visits to review project progress and report to management as necessary.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation and Experience 3-5 years experience as a Project Manager for material handling system provider, or closely related fieldGeneralSelf-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentExcellent time-management and phone skillsProblem solvingQuality focusStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong and ethical performance historyAbility to earn client trust with outgoing personality and strong interpersonal skillsDesire and dedication for a long-term professional careerWillingness to travel nationwide (possibly international) up to 75%Language & Communication SkillsAbility to read and interpret customer communications, spec reports, and common documents.Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, or members of the business community.Ability to develop and make presentations virtually or in person that conform to prescribed style and format.Ability to effectively present information to customers, top management and peers.Physical RequirementsAbility to drive an automobile and travel using public transportation including airlines.Occasional bending and stooping.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.The associate is required to use hands to type, handle, or feel objects, tools and computer controls.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
