Job Title: Psychiatric Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Psychiatry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric nursing License: Registered Nurse, State of Alabama or compact license (No Temporary Licenses accepted) Certifications: AHA BLS or Red Cross CPR Must-Have: - Associated degree in nursing - Strong focus on patient-centered care - Ability to float to other units Description: The role requires a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide acute inpatient psychiatric treatment and care. Candidates must be willing to float to other units and hospitals. Flexibility to work 36 or 48 hours per week is required. Holidays and every other weekend work are mandatory. The facility specializes in acute inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults and geriatric patients. Patients are assessed daily by a psychiatrist and other mental health professionals. Staff provides patient-centered care to support recovery and optimal outcomes. The team utilizes sensory reduction tools to assist with anger management, coping skills, and de-escalation. A strong emphasis is placed on improving the physical and emotional health of patients. Efforts are made to ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience for all patients in a secure environment. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to enhancing patient experience and safety.
