CNA/Direct Care GiverThe CNA/Direct Care Giver provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community. The CNA encourages residents to function at their highest level of independence and to participate in community activities. Conducts activities and provides for a meaningful experience for all residents.Responsibilities include:Maintaining a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the positionAssisting residents with activities of daily livingReporting incidents involving residents to appropriate individuals and completing appropriate documentationPerforming housekeeping duties, such as making resident beds, cleaning resident apartments, common areas, dining room, etc.Responding promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alertsRemaining calm and competent during emergenciesAssisting in planning and conducting activity programs for residentsFollowing confidentiality policies regarding release of resident informationAssisting residents to and from the dining room, and to and from activitiesChecking on residents, ensuring attendance at meals and activitiesChecking on residents who are ill and reporting status or concerns to appropriate individuals and documenting appropriately when necessaryCommunicating verbally and in writing to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfersAssisting new residents with move-in transition: providing emotional supportReporting all resident changes and interventions and interventions in the Daily Log and clinical record. Notifying family as directedRequirements include:Possessing current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of NursingEffectively communicating verbally and in writingBeing organized and able to work well with all levels of personnelBeing a contributing member of the nursing team and following instruction of supervisorBeing polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all timesBeing able to walk and stand for extended periods of timeBeing able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbsBeing able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanicsBeing in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smileBeing CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hireBeing able to represent the community in a positive and professional mannerAttending and completing all required in-services and staff meetingsBeing willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidaysCompleting all other duties as assignedWhy Harmony?401k + Fulltime & Part-time Benefits PackagesTraining, Development & Career LadderingGreat work-life balanceFlexible Scheduling
