Raw Material Specification Specialist - Quality & Remediation - Hybrid

job summary:

A Top-Tier Global BioPharma Company is seeking a Material Sciences Specialist in Novato, CA for a hybrid role (onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays). In this position, you will drive a global material specification remediation program supporting regulatory commitments and CAPA activities.

responsibilities:

• Review and revise raw material specifications against current USP, Ph. Eur., JP, and ACS compendial standards.
• Initiate and execute change controls, compile technical justification packages, and track CAPA milestones.
• Maintain specification inventories, update implementation trackers, and generate status dashboards.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to track impact assessments.
• Assemble supporting documentation to ensure continuous inspection readiness for regulatory audits.

 
qualifications:
Required:

• BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 3-4 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality, material sciences, or regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on experience with cGMP documentation, technical writing, change controls, and CAPA systems.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacopeial standards (USP, EP, JP).

Preferred:

• Direct experience with raw material specifications and supplier quality systems.
• Familiarity with Veeva or electronic quality management systems (eQMS).
