Summary The Controller’s essential function is to provide comprehensive financial updates to Senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points. They guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures. They maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development and help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies. Essential Functions Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll. Act as Administrator of the ERP Software, train employees and implement changes. Manage the third‑party IT Company and maintain company initiatives. Oversee training programs and identify training needs. Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Oversee production of periodic financial reports; ensure that reported results comply with GAAP. Recommend benchmarks to measure company performance. Produce the annual budget and forecasts; report significant budget differences to management. Provide financial analysis, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations. Work with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual audit. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned. Skills and Qualifications Excellent management and supervisory skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Proficiency in accounting and tax preparation software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Supervisory Responsibilities HR Manager, Contracts Administrator, Accounting Manager, IT Systems Administrator. Required / Preferred Education or Experience 7 years of relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in accounting. CCIFP preferred. Federal experience preferred. Paychex Flex preferred. CMiC preferred. Multi‑state experience preferred. Physical Demands Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Sitting for long periods of time.
