Manager, Operations

Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and logistics operations within a fast-paced third-party logistics (3PL) environment. This role ensures efficient execution of inbound, outbound, and inventory processes while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service. The Operations Manager leads a team of associates, drives performance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to meet operational and client expectations. Key Responsibilities * Manages daily warehouse operations including receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, and returns * Lead, train, and motivate a team of warehouse associates to meet productivity and accuracy targets * Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure optimal labor utilization and schedule adherence * Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and OSHA standards * Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, order accuracy, on-time shipping, and inventory accuracy * Identify operational issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions in real time * Support inventory control processes including cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution * Collaborate with customer service and clients to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded * Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality * Assist in workforce planning, including scheduling, attendance management, and performance evaluations * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred * 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in a 3PL environment * 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience * Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes * Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) * Ability to analyze data and make informed operational decisions * Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment * Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Preferred Qualifications * Experience managing operations for multiple clients in a 3PL setting * Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience * Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Physical Requirements * Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed * Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures Work Environment * Fast-paced warehouse/distribution center environment * Exposure to moving equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks * Requires strong attention to safety and operational detail About the Role How you will contribute * Manage the daily activities of a logistics operation to maximize scheduling and delivery of commodities to the customer. * Interface with customer to ensure smooth -coordination of scheduling and maximization of schedule adherence; provides input on local conditions, identifies needs and receives direction on real-time staffing increases or decreases. * Enact contingency plans as needed; escalate and direct activities during system problems, disasters, etc.; identify potential problems, troubleshoot, escalate issues to local and senior management, and participate in post-mortem analysis of problems providing input for future process improvements. * Review ongoing performance results to targets. Take corrective measures with authorization, escalate as needed * Responsible for providing effective leadership to the Warehouse Managers and/or team, enforcing company standards, act as a role model. * Other duties as assigned. Your Key Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred. * Progressive experience performing professional level operational and plant management duties; preferably in automotive or logistics industry. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write documents using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management and customer. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. * Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Compensation DP World offers exciting and challenging roles within a growing international organization.
