Division Director, Comprehensive Stroke Center - Brown Academic Appointment

The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) are searching for a full-time physician to assume Directorship of the Division of Cerebrovascular Disease and the Comprehensive Stroke Center. This is a unique opportunity to lead a Vascular team of 8 full-time practitioners in a high-functioning department at RIH, where a robust multidisciplinary team delivers world-class care and leads integrated research. About the job: Join 6 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers and 2 dedicated RNs Brown academic appointment - participate in the educational programs in Neurology for medical students and residents as well as other staff members at Rhode Island Hospital Enjoy opportunities for departmental and interdepartmental research A minimum of 20% protected research time will be provided RIH has a 21-bed Vascular unit and 18-bed Neurocritical Care Unit which oversees over a thousand stroke admissions per year Work closely with colleagues in Emergency Medicine, Vascular Interventional Radiology, and Neurosurgery Scheduled is typically Monday-Friday with some weekend coverage About the benefits: Strong competitive salary 4 weeks PTO Robust CME allowance plus 2 weeks 401K with an additional 10% contribution Outstanding health and dental benefits Malpractice coverage with a tail Strong administrative support About you: Board Certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology Training in research, with an emphasis on stroke is required Stroke Fellowship training required Must demonstrate excellence as a teacher of Neurology About us: Rhode Island Hospital is the only hospital in the state to be designated as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.
