Together We CAN! The Nurse Mentor will perform nursing duties within the scope of practice as defined by the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act. The function of a Registered Nurse serving as a Nurse Mentor is independent, and includes but not limited to the following:
- Managing and administering nursing services within a specific household according to Glenaire protocol and policies
- Procuring and scheduling adequate licensed and unlicensed nursing staff for the household
- Assigning, delegating, supervising and evaluating licensed nursing professionals, as well as others involved in the household team
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating resident's physical condition when necessary
- Perform, document and complete MDS
- Collaborating to provide best practices for the resident within the multidisciplinary team
- Assisting all members of the multidisciplinary team to achieve the resident's optimum level of functioning
- Developing the nursing component of the residents' plan of care
- Communicating with the resident's representatives and developing positive relationships with them
