Our goal is to protect the public through helping individuals turn away from crime and become productive, contributing members of our communities, ensuring a safer Ohio for all Ohioans now and in the future.To learn more about our agency, please visit our website at You'll Do:Serves as lead worker (e.g., provides work direction, training) over inmates, or other assigned staff in performance of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair work (e.g., electrical, carpentry, grounds keeping, plumbing).Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance repair of equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, electrical circuits, installs fixtures, repair and adjust fans, clocks, cookers, electrical components of heating and cooling systems, consoles, replaces disconnects and fuses on various electrical equipment).Performs semi-skilled and skilled carpentry repairs (e.g., doors, locks cabinets, chairs, desks, floors, walls, windows, stairways, partitions).Performs semi-skilled and skilled repair of plumbing equipment (e.g., water and steam lines, sewer pipes, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, heating radiators, chilled water lines).Performs interior custodial duties (e.g., mops, sweeps, waxes floors, washes wall and windows).Performs exterior grounds keeping duties.Removes snow and ice from sidewalks.On a continuous basis, inspects buildings and equipment for needed repairs or replacements.Performs systematic and routine preventive maintenance of assigned area.Operates machine tools and welding equipment in making repairs to metal parts and equipment.Ensures secure maintenance of tools and completes tool counts and inventoriesAssists in related job crafts as requiredControls/restricts inmate movement to assigned areasConducts searches of inmates when a breach of security is suspectedResponds to emergenciesAttends meetings and trainingsParticipates on institution committeesApplication Procedures: In order to be considered for this position, you must apply on-line through this posting website.
