Maintenance Manager Instrumentation

Maintenance Manager – Instrumentation (Holly Springs, NC) Responsibilities With minimal direction, provide leadership, mentor, and technical expertise to a team of 6‑12 maintenance staff. Provide field support to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve complex equipment maintenance issues. Ensure performance standards are established and consistently enforced. Ensure work activities are completed correctly and safely. Improve right‑first‑time completion and staff efficiency. Ensure work is completed with minimal disruption to site operations. Manage activities to eliminate waste and ensure appropriate maintenance costs. Adhere to procedures and find opportunities for improvement, recommending solutions and managing implementation. Foster an environment of continuous improvement and excellence. Communicate with key customers and support groups and address schedule‑breaking activities and flow interrupters. Manage maintenance service providers in a safe, compliant, and cost‑effective manner. Develop and manage small improvement projects, including the use of predictive analytics tools. Be routinely present in the field to observe staff and activities, remove obstacles, and implement opportunities for improvement. Assess skills and capabilities of the team and ensure appropriate staff development. Provide support outside normal working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, when required. Handle other tasks as assigned. Basic Qualifications Doctorate degree OR Masters degree and 3 years of maintenance/operations experience OR Associate’s degree and 5 years of maintenance experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of maintenance experience OR High school diploma/GDE and 12 years of maintenance experience. Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, projects, programs, or directing resources. Managerial experience may overlap with technical experience requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience using a computerized maintenance management system. Bachelor’s degree in life science, technical, or related field. 6+ years of relevant work experience in operations/manufacturing. 3+ years of experience with regulated environments (cGMP, OSHA, EPA). Managerial experience directly managing people. Experience working with ATO GMP F&E clients and systems (Bulk Manufacturing, Filling & Packaging, Supply Chain, Quality Labs, Small Molecule Manufacturing). In‑depth technical knowledge of GMP equipment and instrumentation. Experience supporting GMP capital project execution and verification activities. Demonstrated leadership on initiatives or continuous improvement teams. Proficiency in process improvement methodologies. Strong background in GMP maintenance combined with excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to support multiple clients and prioritize resources against competing objectives. Trained troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and investigational skills related to electro‑mechanical equipment and systems.
