While reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will perform proactive maintenance tasks, work with machining equipment, and respond quickly and effectively to maintenance concerns to ensure timely shipment of Sonoco products. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are core to our culture.What You Will Be DoingTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, pneumatic actuators, conveyor networks, and three-phase motors.Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections according to our CMMS schedule.Maintaining and repairing utility and facility-related equipment as directed by the Maintenance SupervisorDiagnose basic electrical and PLC faults using schematic blueprints and digitalRespond rapidly to emergency production line breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.Assisting and training other maintenance personnel with repairs, preventive maintenance, and rebuildsCollaborating closely with production and other departments to proactively resolve equipment issuesMaintaining a safe, clean, and organized work areaManaging small projects to maintain or upgrade equipmentPerforming all duties in full support of Sonoco's quality and safety policiesWe'd love to hear from you if:You have experience in an industrial environment or relevant military experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude with systematic troubleshooting abilitiesExperience with PLC troubleshooting, industrial controls, and motor controls (strong plus)Comfortable using mechanical lifts and ladders, and with kneeling, bending, and twisting; able to lift up to 50 lbs.Work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, and are willing to work an off-shift position with rotating shifts and overtime, including weekendsMisc.
